It’s Crawfish Time

Crawfish Bread

Looking for simple and delicious crawfish recipe then crawfish bread is perfect. This makes a great appetizer or addition to crawfish fettuccine. It is easy to make with leftover crawfish from a crawfish boil to create this scrumptious dish.

Crawfish Bread Recipe

1 cup of crawfish tails
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup butter (melted)
1 cup Italian blend shredded cheese
1/4 cup chopped green onions
1 tsp garlic powder
Cajun Seasoning to taste
1 loaf of your favorite French Bread

Preheat oven to 350ºF.

In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, melted butter, Italian blend shredded cheese, chopped green onion, and garlic powder. Fold in chopped crawfish and season to taste. Spread crawfish mixture on French bread. Bake on a cookie sheet lined with either foil or parchment paper for 15 to 20 minutes or until lightly toasted. Cut in 2 inch pieces and garnish with chopped onions. ENJOY!

🧀 National Cheddar Day! 🧀

Americans love cheddar cheese!  Mac and cheese, cheese burgers and grill cheese sandwiches would not be the same with any other cheese. Cheddar is king!  I must admit grilled cheddar cheese sandwiches are one of my favorite things to eat. Plates by www.giftsetc.com are perfect for serving grilled cheese sandwiches.

Cheddar cheese dates to the 12^th century in Somerset, England.  Cheddar cheese was popular then and still is today.  More than half of the cheese sold in the United Kingdom is Cheddar cheese.   Cheddar cheese accounts for about one third of all cheese sold in the USA today.

One of the popular brands of cheese sold in the USA today is Tillamook and our family loves Tillamook cheese.  Tillamook wants all Americans to celebrate cheese everyday but especially today, February 13, 2019 on the first National Cheddar Day.  In 2019, the Registrar at National Day Calendar proclaimed National Cheddar Day to be observed every February 13th.

So grill those cheese sandwiches, cook that Mac and Cheese and put an extra slice on your burger.  All of these dishes are great with cheddar cheese and look amazing on our plates.

Cajun Groundhog Day

Gifts Etc. is located in New Iberia, Louisiana, USA.  We are very proud that our pieces are hand decorated here in New Iberia and we love our hometown.  Most of our items are marked with our logo which includes our hometown name, New Iberia.  You may ask, “Where is New Iberia and what makes it special?”

New Iberia is in Iberia Parish in southern Louisiana.  Even though we are a coastal parish we do not have the white sandy beaches but marshes.  The marshes are homes of a variety of animals including nutria.  Lots of things make New Iberia unique.  One of the biggest is Pierre C. Shadeaux, the Cajun Groundhog.  Pierre is a nutria.   Punxsutawney, Pa., is known for Groundhog Day with their beloved ground hog, Phil.  People gather to see if Phil sees his shadow to predict if spring is coming soon or if winter is going to stay around.  Pierre is the celebrated nutria who appears annually in Bouligny Plaza to predict if we will have a spring or a long summer.  According to Pierre C. Shadeaux who appeared today and saw his shadow,  we are skipping over Spring and are going to having a LONG HOT SUMMER.  With summer coming soon, that means off shore fishing is not far away.  So we might as well get ready with our great pieces featuring fish art by Larry Fowler.
